How to make dual boot installation?

I am using Windows XP Home and am waiting for Windows Vista Home Premium to
arrive.

I the meantime I put a second hard drive in my computer and got it formatted
with the disk management utility. The second hard drive is totally empty.

What I want to do is to install the Vista on the second hard drive and leave
the Windows XP intact. That way when I start the computer I will get that
start up screen that says...

Use Windows Vista
Use previous version of Windows

How do I get Vista to install that way?

Just make sure that you install Vista to the correct drive, and it will work
that way.
Vista will install the bootloader program.

Thanks a lot. I will do that. I did try to look it up but every article I
found had to do with partitions and I do not have any separate partitions.

as long as your new drive is not an external (USB or Firewire) you're ok.
From what I've heard, Vista won't boot off of an external drive, except for
an eSATA.

No worries. The new hard drive is inside the case. Now I am thinking of
getting fancy and actually making a partition.

I could have hard drive 0 as 200GB with Windows XP and hard drive 1 which
is 465GB as 165GB for Vista and 300GB for common file storage that could be
accessed by either OS.

Yes. It worked exactly as you said and all is well. I received a 5.1 score
with the CPU being the lowest rated.
